The puppets used in the PUNCH & JUDY GONG SHOW had to have strong features and vibrant coloring to "read" in the outdoor puppet booth tower on the streets of the International Village of StoryTown USA. They also had to be lightweight and durable to withstand the 15 shows a day demanded by the park owners. I designed the characters in January of 1977 and sent my color renderings and instructions to RAY MOORE, a professional puppet builder in Atlanta, Georgia. Ray frequently did specialty characters for our productions and his work was ( and still is) the best in the business. The completed puppets arrived in May and they were everything I had wanted and more!
